Jai-Jagdeesh and I on Winter Solstice Day 12/21/18
I want to share this while it's fresh in my mind, body, and soul. I had the honor to attend 3HO's Winter Solstice Sadhana Celebration from December 16th thru December 23rd in Lake Wales, Florida. As I sit to share this with you, I look at my wrist as I still wear my blue wristband from the event. I am listening to Jai-Jagdeesh. In order to get to this amazing experience I must share a little history with you. I heard about Kundalini Yoga in 2012 while I listened to a podcast by Gabby Bernstein. Back in 2012, I didn't find any classes near Lehigh Acres, Florida.
“When the student is ready the teacher will appear. When the student is truly ready... The teacher will Disappear.” ― Tao Te Ching
Fast forward to 2015, once again Kundalini Yoga was brought into my awareness when I attended Gabby Bernstein's Spirit Junkie Masterclass. It was during the opening of her class as we meditated she played Jai-Jagdeesh's song Aad Guray Nameh. I didn't understand the words nor did I know it was a Kundalini Yoga sacred mantra. All I knew this sacred mantra resonated with me and shook me at core. This time I found a teacher in Bonita Springs, Florida - the distance from my home was an hour but I happily made a trip to class. The beautiful Jessica aka Sevapreet was my teacher and I was her student. I fell in love with Kundalini Yoga. I remember she encouraged me to attend Winter Solstice. She had appear in 2015, and just like that she disappeared. She and her family moved from Florida and I was left without a teacher. But as a student I was ready for the next step which was to become a Kundalini Yoga teacher.

The experience I had this year was totally amazing. Two of my Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Instructors (pictured above with me) were there and happen to be Jai-Jagdeesh parents. So needless to say when I found out she would be there leading Sadhana chants on Saturday. I was excited to hear her chant live. But the Universe made it so that on Friday after White Tantric Yoga on the very Winter Solstice day, I saw her and I had to go let her know how her song the very first mantra I heard touched me and lead me to take this journey. The journey to find the teachings of Yogi Bhajan. Kundalini Yoga is definitely the yoga of awareness. I asked if I could get a picture with her and how having her parents as trainers was so rewarding. Both are excellent trainers. Love them to pieces. Friday couldn't have been any better - I had officially attended a entire Winter Solstice and had did 2 full days of White Tantric Yoga.
The week was coming to an end. I had connected with old classmates from teacher training and made new friends with my roommates in the women's cabin. I meet people from all over the world. On Saturday which was the Full Moon, December 22nd. I knew I was going to attend the class that was being taught by my trainers. It was sure a treat to see the entire family would co-teach this class. Hoooray! I made sure to get there super early and secure my spot in the front row. I place my mat, yoga blanket, and sheepskin and felt truly blessed to in this space. Felt grateful for the soul that made it possible. This class was so healing. I felt completely rejuvenated afterwards. I knew that Sunday, I would be leaving but the experience would live forward in my heart and soul. Thank you 3HO for hosting this event for so many to experience. Thank you Yogi Bhajan for the teachings of Kundalini Yoga and White Tantric Yoga.
As I walked to my car today and remembered all the wonderful memories I shared at this Solstice - the magic and transformation that was created over this week. My heart is grateful for my Tantric partners Daniela and Lisa. Seeing many faces and meeting new ones. For the delicious food. I was on the Tantric Burger team this year and made those amazing burgers everyone enjoys so much. I know I did. For the chilly nights, the pouring rain, for the beautiful sunsets and sunrises. I look forward to many many more. Sat Nam Wahe Guru
